THE ART OF

This mural was commissioned by the Majestic Hotel in Hot Springs, AR in 1965. After visiting the hotel to assess the mural site, Marr was inspired by a Sycamore tree on his way home. Using Sycamores on the Hendrix campus, he constructed a small scale model to be presented to the hotel owner for approval. After a 1980's or 1990's renovation, the mural was removed. The family later learned the pieces perished during the Majestic fire of 2014.
